Work and Education:
Currently I am a post doctoral researcher at the department of Astronomy, University of Groningen, The Netherlands. I did my PhD in Astrophysics at Kapteyn Astronomical Institute, University of Groningen, The Netherlands. To give a brief background: I was born and raised in Howrah (near Calcutta), India where I had my schooling. Thereafter I completed my Bachelor in Physics (BSc) from Presidency College, University of Calcutta in the year 2012. Then I did my Masters in Physics (MSc) at Presidency University, Calcutta specializing in Astrophysics. From 2014 summer onwards I moved to Europe for my PhD in Astronomy. For details on my research see here.
Scholarly interests outside astronomy:
Although major part of my research is on cosmology, I also spend a lot of time in my living room reading books on various topics ranging from Egyptology to Politics. I have keen interest in different branches of continental philosophy, starting from Existentialism to Hermeneutics and I also enjoy writing in my leisure time. However, most of my non-astronomical writings are yet unpublished, but some of them sometimes might pop up in my Blogpage.

Hobbies and miscellaneous creative interests:
Besides doing mathematical model building and statistical data analysis as part of my daily job, I have quite a few creative interests and hobbies in life. I’m a singer and songwriter and I love performing. I’m actively involved in regular gigs with my band in and around the city of Groningen. On some sunny days I also like to play with paints. In last couple of years I got chances to exhibit my artworks in a number of art festivals. Besides I try to travel whenever possible and occasionally love to see the world through my lens.
Well… that’s it for now. Feel free to toggle in the menu-bar to get acquainted with my research and art. If you would like to share something you are most welcome to get in touch with me, I would be pleased to have a conversation with you!
